Jose Burgos

Dominican theater director and instructor based in Chicago, United States since 1994.
Graduated from the National School of Dramatic Art of Santo Domingo, DR (1984-1987). Graduated as an education technician with a major in Social Sciences from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, UASD, DR.

 Founder of Repertorio Latino Theater Company in which he is the artistic director since 1998 and has also  directed and acted in more than twenty productions with the company.

His main directorial work includes: Bury the Dead, by Irwin Shaw, 1998; Yepeto, by Roberto Cossa, 2006; The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, 2011; The Virtuous Burglar, by Darío Fo, 2013; Orinoco, by Emilio Carballido, 2013; On the Harmful Effects of Tobacco, by Antón Chekhov, 2014; Lo Mein and Tequila, by Angelina Llongueras, 2017; The Maids, by Jean Genet, 2018. Hotel-O, by Ulises Rangel.

 In 2020 he directed the film Sin Máscara, an adaptation of the play La Sana Distancia, by Raúl Dorantes
